Edits...

So I've got about ten more chapters to proof of Kiss the Shadows and this is basically the look on my face...

 

There's a lot that needs to be changed. A bunch of terminology just doesn't sit well with me, and there's a rape scene of a male secondary character in the middle of the book that just...makes me shudder, so I'm basically rewriting that scene. I didn't mean to use rape as gratuitous violence, only to show how high the stakes were, but that whole excerpt just makes me...unhappy. Especially since I really like him.

So, I'm rewriting, editing, proofing and formatting and all that needs to be finished by midnight. Which is, oh, two hours from now.

ARGGGHHHHHH!!!!

    Why did you re-write this book? I thought it was a very good book the first time around and was really looking forward to more with these characters. Will there be more written about Eve Faulkner and Vincent? It felt like there were going to be more stories about them. I was trying to find on your blog where you may have written about this but haven't found anything. I'm about to read Invincible which it looks like it is set in the area maybe I will find more in there. It doesn't sound like based on the synopsis. Hopeful I guess. Should I purchase the new re-write is it that much different than the original?

      Thanks for your kind words, Lisa. Unfortunately, there were numerous typos in the past version. If you could leave me an email address, I'd like to send you the updated version, free of charge, as I am uncomfortable that you should purchase two different versions of the book.

      As for Eve Faulkner and Vincent, yes, there will be another book of theirs coming out late March :) Invincible is indeed set in the same universe and both Eve and Vincent make cameo appearances while Ryder have a more upfront role in that particular book. Please enjoy!
